Focus Character & Academy

FOCUS AT AL-FALAH

Students at Al-Falah are entitled to receive a strong and effective character education, especially designed to prepare them for the challenges of the twenty-first century. The qualified educators at Al-Falah consciously integrate Islamic teachings across all subjects, and strategically make cross-curricular connections between different areas of teaching to maximize creative out-of-the-box learning.
To give our students a wholesome educational experience, Al-Falah takes active part in many co-curricular (science fair, educational trips, science workshops, spelling bee, khatirahs, Quran and Hadith contest, math contests, leadership workshops, etc.) and extra-curricular activities (organized sports, debate competition, poetry elocution, spoken word, talent show, tarbiyah sessions, bake sales, month-end assemblies, student presentations, food drive, etc.). Not only Al-Falah participates in several inter-school events but also hosts some of them (themed art contests, ART IMPART, presentation on Islamic History of Mathematics in Islam).

CHARACTER EDUCATION AT AL-FALAH

To provide the best possible character education to our students, Al-Falah wisely chooses year-round themes geared towards building a strong foundation for leaders of tomorrow. As per Islamic teachings, punctuality and respect for time is at the heart of Al-Falah’s core values. As members of Al-Falah’s blessed community, we practise conservation of natural resources, acceptance for diversity, thankfulness and gratitude for Allah (SWT) and His creations. The students at Al Falah show compassion through a solid understanding of the concept of empathy. We take pride in teaching our students emotional intelligence and respect for diversity. In essence, Prophet Mohammed’s seerah (PBUH) is the guiding principle for Al-Falah’s character education.

ACADEMICS AT AL-FALAH

Starting in Junior Kindergarten, we place strong stress on the three learning skills – Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic. Technology and hands-on-experience are incorporated at all levels of learning. Students at Al-Falah are consistently encouraged to become better readers and acquire the power of speech with responsibility and keeping the Islamic values in place. In order to sharpen our students’ math skills, we regularly arrange for them to participate in several math contest through University of Waterloo. In order to instill the skills of communication, critical thinking, and collaboration, educators at Al-Falah regularly incorporate student-led learning in their respective classrooms. Deen (muamilaat and ibadaat) is taught with a clear direction on discipline, education, and leadership.
